Te Āhuru Mōwai is a term used to describe the birthing waters of the placenta, a safe haven where baby grows; our young mothers are this for their babies and in turn our school is their safe haven. Together, we create an individual learning plan towards a pathway at NCEA Levels 1 to 3 – be it tertiary education, trades training or employment.
We have a strong social and non-academic programme that allows our students to develop themselves and their parenting, and to have experiences they may not otherwise have.
We are based at Toi Ohomai Mokoia Campus which means an easier transition to higher learning and we work hard to link students with support services they may require at different stages of their journey with us.
Contact us via Facebook ‘Te Āhuru Mōwai Rotorua School for Young Parents’ or click on contact to email us.

Baby can stay in class until 6 months old. We have a partnership with Atawhai Childcare Centre opposite us. There may be wait times until spaces are available.
