At Te Tipu Whenua o Pa Harakeke we believe that being a teen-parent should not stop an education. We have high expectations of all our students.
Even if school has not worked out well in the past we offer a new and unique opportunity. Te Tipu Whenua o Pa Harakeke helps students achieve and to be the best that they can be.
We always seek to provide a supportive and nurturing environment where parents and babies can flourish. All new students are assessed and an individual education plan is developed to suit their unique needs.
Students are able to study in small classes, with Te Kura Correspondence School or a range of outside providers, and are fully supported by teachers on site who encourage students to achieve at their own pace.
Transport and childcare are available to eliminate those barriers that may stop young parents from continuing with their education.
The programme is flexible and can cater for all levels and abilities and is offered in a supportive whanau atmosphere with other young parents.
